华龙网成立于2000年，是国务院新闻办公室批准组建的首批省级重点新闻网站，由市委宣传部主管，是重庆日报报业集团媒体融合发展的战略转型平台，是重庆唯一拥有新闻采访权的网络新闻媒体和首个“十媒一体”的全媒体网站。
Hualongwang (www.cqnews.net) , with the approval of the State Council Information Office, was set up as a key news website at provincial level in Chongqing on December 20, 2000. Under the supervision of the Chongqing Committee Propaganda Department, Hualongwang is an important platform for the integrated development of Chongqing Daily News Group, the Chongqing’s only website with news interview right, and Chongqing’s first news portal with “10 media terminals”.
华龙网始终坚持“世界小点、重庆大点”的奋斗目标，紧紧围绕“新闻•门户•网站”发展战略，始终坚持正确舆论导向，积极打造以华龙网为龙头以移动互联网为核心的现代传播体系。目前，华龙网日均影响受众超过3000万人次，重庆客户端集群用户超过1500万，手机报集群用户超过1042万，Alexa全球排名1000名左右，在全国省级重点新闻网站中保持排名前二、被转载指数第一。在连续三年获得中国新闻奖二等奖的基础上，2016年荣获中国新闻奖一等奖，实现了重庆新闻界零的突破。2017年，华龙网作品专题《绝壁上的“天路”》和专栏《百姓故事》双双获一等奖。由此，华龙网成为首个一年内荣获两项中国新闻奖一等奖的地方新闻网站，同时也是重庆首家一年内斩获两个一等奖的新闻媒体。这也是华龙网连续6年斩获中国新闻奖。

Hualongwang won the first prize of China News Award in 2016, which is a significant breakthrough in the Chongqing’s press.
2014年2月，华龙网成为集团公司，探索“互联网+”产业发展路子，初步培育了互联网数据取证、互联网征信、大数据管理运营和物联网应用等业务为一体的“互联网+”产业集群，构建互联网健康生态。2016年12月，集团有限公司整体变更为集团股份有限公司。目前，正加快推进上市工作。
On February 2014, Hualongwang was changed to Chongqing Hualong Group Co., Ltd. The group has set foot in various fields such as online digital forensics, online credit investigation, and big data management. On December 2016, Chongqing Hualong Group Co., Ltd. was changed to Chongqing Hualong Group Inc. Now, the group is preparing for IPO.
